Welcome to BSA Troop 482!

Our Charter is Grace Anglican Church located on US 17, South of CR 220 in Fleming Island. Our Troop meets on Mondays at 6:45pm and is very active throughout the year. Our activities consist of monthly Camping, Service Projects, Fundraising, and Training which culminates into a Scout year end Summer Camp. The Troop is supported directly by Trained Scouters as well as strong parental participation. All of whom desire a high caliber Scouting Program as set by BSA National. If you have any questions please fill out the form below and submit, we will get back to you shortly.

Troop 482's Mission

The mission of Boy Scout Troop 482 is to provide opportunities for Scouts to learn and develop leadership skills thru a Scouting program that features outdoor activities and hands on instructions in life skills. It is further the mission of Troop 482 to support and sustain the objectives of the Boy Scouts of America in preparing Scouts to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetime. To shape our young men to be leaders; of themselves, for their families and to be upstanding citizens in their community, nation and world.

Troop 482's Vision

Scouting is a lifetime of learning so we envision a Scouting program where all Scouts are prepared for life’s challenges and that they have the opportunity to develop and mature in citizenship, service and leadership within a safe and caring environment. We will be the premier Troop within the NFC by wearing the Scout Uniform properly and proudly. We want a strong boy led Troop that has high participation and spirit, with opportunities for advancement, and creates possibilities for fun while keeping in mind the Scout Oath and Law.

Scoutmaster's Message

A Scout is trustworthy. A Scout tells the truth. He is honest, and he keeps his promises. People can depend on him. Being "Worthy of Trust" means a promise made is a promise fulfilled. It means a scout will do what he says he will do. It means the scout will see things through to the end. He is trustworthy not because he is forced to be that way, but because he chooses to be. His honor is the only regulation that enforces his trustworthiness. That is why the words, "On My Honor", are so important to a Scout - his honor is the only collateral he has to offer to ensure that he can be trusted. If a Scout has no sense of honor, then the Scout Law and the Scout Oath lose their meaning and strength. For that reason, it is a critical task for leaders to explain and demonstrate honor and then nurture and strengthen it in Scouts. By establishing a strong sense of honor, all the other aims and goals of scouting can take place.
